It's Gone!!!!

The old green trailer went bye bye today. Yeah! Now we prep for the new park model.

Still have some construction to do on the little buildings, but now we can get at them.

This is looking from the back to the front. You can see the boat shelter and the car parked at the front of the property.

And here it is looking from front to back. Some of that extra roof will be coming off and where the current bathroom is (behind that wood in the middle) will be gone soon.  Just about 6 weeks till we're looking at a new park model sitting in this space. Can hardly wait.

It Keeps Getting Smaller and Smaller

The second building got it's hair cut yesterday. This building will be my studio when all this is said and done, but for now it's our living quarters and with the 2 of us and 2 labradors, the space is definitely feeling small.
Here is the framed up wall, we only have to take about a foot off of this building in order to get the park model in.

You can see the entrance to the old trailer from this room. That all has to get torn out and will finally release the trailer from the buildings. Kind of like jettisoning the command module.

Here we have the vapor barrier up and the bed set up. We had room for the little recliner and that's about it.

This is on the other side of the bed. 1 IKEA cart with a hot plate and the tv. You can see the fridge on the right just inside the foyer.

Eventually, the doorway will be walled over and the foyer chopped down a little but still attached to the other building. We're hoping this makes a good utility room with our washer/dryer and freezer.

And here is the most important place. The coffee station, the big freezer, the microwave and all our portable shelving is stuffed in the other building as our makeshift kitchen while all this constructing is going on.

Next week, the trailer will be gone for good and we'll start on leveling the pad for the park model. It's coming along!

Construction Zone!

Normally, you might come here for a peek at what I've been doing artistically lately. Well, right now we're in the middle of a construction zone. Kind of an out with the old, in with the new. We've got this old travel trailer that has been our kitchen and spare bathroom here. Now that we're moving permanently to Oregon, we need a more reliable dwelling, so the trailer is coming out and a park model is going in. In order to get the park model in, though, some modification to the existing buildings has to happen--walls are moving, retaining walls are going in and this week the new electrical went in. Whoo hoo! we're on our way!

The green and white trailer is what is coming out.

In order to get the new park model in, about 3 and half feet have to come off that little building next to the trailer.

Here is the new wall from the inside

and from the outside.

and here's the dude doing all the work!
