An Afternoon by the Lagoon

I don't know how they do it, but every time my birthday rolls around Club Scrap puts out an awesome kit that I just have to have, stamps and all. This year it is the Lagoon kit featuring mermaids and I'm just loving the cards you can make with it.

First up are the regular Distress Ink backgrounds using Peeled Paint, Dusty Concord and Peacock Feathers. Detail black embossing powder on the stamped images.

This one is the same kind of background with the seahorse and grasses embossed with Dusky Blue and Weathered Copper respectively and then colored in with gelatos to help them stand out a little. I also cut apart the quote so I could space the lines apart.

Again, the Distress ink background and the turtle is from Castaway, another favorite sea themed kit. These are embossed with Marcasite EP.

These next 2 backgrounds are Distress Oxide Inks (Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Violet) on black paper. The quote is from Cape Cod.

Same kind of background on this one and just the tail of the mermaid with silver embossing powder.

The background on this one is made with the same Distress Oxides, but on glossy black paper. Found that these inks don't dry well on glossy, but did manage to get it dry after a lengthy time with the heat gun.
