I got out one of my FAVORITE products to play today. Alcohol Inks. So glad this one popped up in the Compendium of Curiosities Challenge over at StudioL3. I played with bottle, stream, eggplant, lettuce, sailboat blue and silver. The first card I used black glossy cs and the second white glossy cs. They both give great results. The water lily stamp is from studio g and colored with opaque stix and mounted on paper by zsiage. The seashore scene is done with clearstamps, then cut apart and rearranged to form a grid with Marcasite EP for grout lines. This one is mounted on Club Scrap's Castaway paper. And I have 5 more backgrounds to play with. Whoo hoo!
Beautiful cards. I never even thought of using black glossy cardstock,,,,which I just happen to have (lol)
ReplyDeleteBoth are quite lovely! Looks great on the black too! The 2nd one looks like you're looking out a window.
ReplyDeleteOMG - Those are both incredible!!! I have used black glossy, but did not think of it for this! Love them!!! Next time, I use black!
ReplyDeleteI would never have thought to try it on black card stock! What a great idea! It looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteHoly cow, these are INCREDIBLE! Not only are your monoprints beautiful, your designs are just mind-blowing. Those lilies are almost otherworldly against the black paper-- what a cool effect. And how clever to use the EP as "grout" between the tiles. That is over-the-top cool! (Can I borrow that technique??)
ReplyDeleteBoy, am I ever happy you're doing the challenges, because I'm learning all kinds of great things from you! Thanks for sharing your talent.

ReplyDeleteThey're both fabulous - but I love the first one, the background looks like ripples in water.
ReplyDeleteI see someone above mentioned Monet ... it's exactly what I was thinking!
